Sights
On Mount Geraneia, directly above Loutraki, you’ll find the Holy Monastery of Saint Patapios, built in the 11th century. It is accessible by car and offers impressive views of Northern Peloponnese, the Isthmus of Corinth, and the Saronic Gulf. In the area of the thermal springs stands the Church of Saint Andrew, built in 1345 by John Kantakouzenos.
Just 14 km to the west is Lake Vouliagmeni, a deep, enclosed sea bay connected to the Corinthian Gulf by a narrow 6–8 meter-wide channel, where the phenomenon of tidal inflow and outflow can be observed. 4 km to the south, towards Corinth, you will find the Corinth Canal.
The Melagavi Lighthouse is located on the cape of Peraias land, as the coastline of ancient Corinth was once called. The lighthouse is built above the sanctuary of the goddess Hera and dominates the area.
